Dalgan Bids Farewell to Chef Peter Farrell

Sep 18, 2026

Vice Regional Director Fr Padraig O’Donovan led the community in Dalgan in expressing their thanks and appreciation to chef Peter Farrell who is leaving after ten years.

“On behalf of the Columban Community in Dalgan, Peter, I would like to express our sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to you.

For the past ten years, you have been more than a chef. Your presence has touched the lives of so many of us in many different ways.

We thank you for your dedication, commitment and hard work over all these years.

You have given generously of your time and talents, always striving to provide good food, hospitality and to make sure that the needs of the community were looked after.

Your contribution to life here in Dalgan is greatly appreciated.

But beyond your work, we will remember you especially for your friendship, your sportsmanship, even when you rubbed our noses by always putting up the Dub flag.

Your approachable and welcoming nature made it easy for people to feel comfortable in your company, and your presence has been an important part of the life and spirit of Dalgan.

As you now move on to a new chapter in your life, I know I speak for all of us here when I say you will be missed.

Know that you and your family are always welcome for a visit and a Cuppa any time you’re passing the gate!

Just a small token of our appreciation with gratitude and best wishes from all of us here, Peter.”

Wishing Peter health and happiness as he embarks on this new chapter in his life.
