An Autumn Day in Dalgan with Dr John Feehan takes place on Saturday 21st October 2023. It opens in the Conference Hall, St Columban’s, Dalgan at 9.30am and continues until 4.00pm. The theme is ‘Exploring What Lies Beneath’.
Autumn is a time not only of leaf fall, shortening days and the fading of floral colour, but also the time of year when the hidden world of fungi becomes more obvious to the exploring eye: not only mushrooms and toadstools, but a great variety of other smaller fungi, each with its different, always fascinating, story to tell.
Our autumn day will be an occasion to look at some of these and deepen our sense of wonder at what goes on in this, the Fifth Kingdom of the living world.
Wear suitable autumn clothing and footwear and bring a collecting basket and trowel.
