Winners of this year’s Columban Schools Media competition in Ireland were delighted to be featured in a recent issue of the Irish News.
The national daily published the winning article by Clíodhna McKeever, a Year 11 pupil at St Catherine’s College, Armagh.
It also published the winning image – ‘The Earth is the Lord’s’ by Alanah McKenzie of St Paul’s Secondary School, Dublin, which came first place in the Image category.
The online edition published Keelin Bellemand of Le Cheile Secondary School, Tyrrelstown, Dublin’s image which came second and Róise Curtin of Loreto Secondary School Clonmel’s image which came third.

Conn Fyfe of St Louis Grammar School, Ballymena came second in the print category and Anna McQuillan of St Dominic’s, Belfast came third in the print section.
