Bishop Brendan Kelly of Galway presided at the Columban Centenary Mass in the parish of Shrule recently. The occasion brought together Columbans, local parishioners as well as Columban relatives. A special exhibition was prepared recalling the Columban missionary college in Dalgan, Shrule from which 333 Columban missionaries set out between 1918 and 1941 to spread the Joy of the Gospel in China and the Far East.
