The Columbans in Ireland have launched a new peace initiative which seeks St Columban’s intercession amid the increased conflict around the world.
A prayer card invoking St Columban’s help has been printed and is being made available for distribution to those who are willing to pray for peace and to promote this prayer for peace.
Speaking to Columbans.ie, Ruth Cleary of the Far East office, who has spearheaded the initiative said, “These are extraordinary times, these are times of conflict with nations preparing for or engaging in war.”
“This is a prayer for the whole community and for the Columban family to pray for peace through the intercession of our patron, St Columban.”
“It is our hope that it will be prayed and distributed widely. You can obtain a copy for yourself, or a quantity to distribute to your family, friends and contacts. There is also an option to make a donation to help us to spread the card to more people around Ireland.”
