Fr Iowane Naio ordained a Columban missionary priest

On 10th April 2024 Fr Iowane Ilaidoko Naio was ordained a Columban missionary priest in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, Suva, Fiji.

Fr Iowane has been appointed to the Pakistan Mission Unit, and is due to arrive there on 1st December 2024.

He is the third of ten children of Mr Isake Amoka of Nakoroboya, Ba, and the late Mrs Mariana Naidole, also of Nakoroboya, Ba.

A mechanic by trade, he worked for Asco Motors, Nadi, before joining the Missionary Society of St Columban in 2014.

He then attended the Pacific Regional Seminary for two years before moving to Manila in August 2016.

He studied at the Loyola School of Theology for four years in the Philippines.

In 2019, he was assigned to the Parish of the Holy Archangel in Lima, Peru, where he spent two years.

Fr Iowane Ilaidoko Naio is ordained.

Fr Iowane returned to Manila in May 2023 to complete his studies.

On 16th September 2023, he was ordained to the diaconate at the Columban International Theologate House in Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines.

He returned to Fiji on 20th September 2023 and has been doing pastoral work at the Holy Family Parish, Labasa.
