Fr Raymond Husband has been re-elected as Regional Director of the Missionary Society of St Columban in Ireland.
The Navan-native led the region over the past three years.
He will be assisted in his next term of office by Fr Padraig O’Donovan, who replaces Fr Gerry Neylon.
Fr Padraig served two terms as Vice Director under Fr Pat Raleigh and was a member of the regional council between 2018-2021.
Fr Ray Husband returned to Ireland in 2017 to take up the role of Office Manager with the Irish Mission League and the Far East magazine. Before that, he was a missionary in the Philippines.
He joined the Columbans in Dalgan and was in the class of 1981. Eight entered and three were ordained, Fr Ray, Fr Padraig O’Donovan and Fr John Collins.
After ordination in 1989, Fr Ray was posted to the Philippines in 1990 and while there was involved in parish work in Sincaban, and acted as Columban vice-director as well as head of formation and manager of the Columban mission magazine Misyon.
We wish Fr Raymond and Fr Padraig and their Council the very best for their term of office.
