Icon of SS Peter and Paul in Columban seminary in Korea

Fr Donal O’Keeffe, Rector of the Columban seminary in Seoul, reflects on the Feast of SS Peter and Paul and its significance for the Missionary Society of St Columban.

He recalls how the Society was officially recognised by Rome on 29th June 1918 – the Feast of Peter and Paul and how over the years many Columbans have been ordained on this Feast day.

He explains how an icon of the two great apostles was painted by Columban artist, Fr Jason Antiquera from Binalbagan, Negros Occidental in the Columban seminary in Seoul.

“I think it is a very appropriate work of art on the door into our sacred space. It is also very missionary,” Fr Donal says.

Fr Jason Antiquera was ordained in 2015 and has been working in Korea since then.
