In this episode of ‘Meet a Columban’, Fr Jim Mulroney speaks to Fr John Hegerty SSC who has been in Peru since 1971. Born in 1941 in Redesdale, central Victoria in Australia, he grew up on his parents’ 1,700 acre sheep and cattle and rotational cropping holding, called Summer Hill. He joined the Columbans at the age of 23. This year he celebrates the golden jubilee of his ordination. He ministers in Lima, the capital of Peru.
