New Columban podcast series on biodiversity begins on 31 August

Aug 19, 2020

On Monday, 31 August 2020, the Missionary Society of St Columban will release a new podcast mini-series, ‘Jubilee for the Earth: Biodiversity and Our Sacred Story,’ about the beauty of biodiversity and the threats it faces.

The podcast is launching in time for the 2020 Season of Creation (1 September – 4 October).

Our patron St Columban famously said, “if you want to know the Creator, look at creation.”

Now more than ever, we know how urgent it is for us as humans to heal our broken relationship with the rest of God’s creation. That’s why we are releasing this new podcast for the Season of Creation.

Grounded in Catholic Social Teaching and the Columban experience, the six episodes of ‘Jubilee for the Earth’ will explore how caring for our common home and our brother and sister species is integral to our lives as people of faith and as global citizens.

Each episode will explore biodiversity and a related issue like economic justice, interreligious dialogue, peace and demilitarisation, and migration.

A number of Columban priests, lay missioners, and co-workers will be featured in the podcast, including Fr Brian Vale (GC), Fr Dan Troy (China), John Din (Philippines), and Ellen Teague (Britain), among many others.

Join Columban missionaries from around the world for this podcast mini-series about the beauty of biodiversity and the threats it faces.
