Online Ecumenical Prayer Service for Peace in Europe

Apr 1, 2022

The Friends of St Columbanus are hosting an online (ZOOM) Ecumenical Prayer Service for Peace in Europe on Sunday 3rd April 2022 at 6pm (GMT) and 7pm (CET).

After more than 80 years of peace, Europe is experiencing fracture and war and this call to reflection and prayer is in response to the current situation.

You are invited to join friends in France, Italy, UK and across Ireland as we unite together in reflection and prayer for peace.

Following in the footsteps of St Columbanus, whom Robert Schumann spoke of as the patron saint of all who aspire to a united Europe, the Friends of St Columbanus across the nine countries that make up the Columban Way, carry forward Columbanus’ legacy and vision for unity and peace.

The Service will be opened by Rev Dr Noel Treanor, Bishop of Down & Connor and it will conclude with Canon Simon Doogan, Ballyholme, Bangor, Co Down. Angie Escara, Columban Lay Missionary, will lead the Service.
