Who are the Columbans?

An inside look into the Missionary Society of St Columban. A Society of missionary priests and lay people who work in 16 countries around the world. Founded in 1918 by two young Irish priests, Frs Edward Galvin and John Blowick, the Society takes its name from St Columban. Working in places where the Gospel has not been preached, standing in solidarity with the poor, fundraising to help those living in poor conditions, providing education and developing schools, hospitals and clinics in areas of need. Supporting climate change, providing accommodation to migrants, asylum seekers and refugees. Promoting inter-religious dialogue and believing in Christian-Muslim relations. Promoting vocations to the priesthood and endeavouring to build the Society by assisting those less fortunate than ourselves. This is the Missionary Society of St Columban.
