World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation

Aug 24, 2022

The Missionary society of St Columban is hosting a prayer service on World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation to mark the beginning of the Season of Creation.

The gathering will also include the launch of the new Columban podcast series – Season 2 of Jubilee for the Earth, which is focused on Biodiversity and Our Sacred Story.

This podcast is about the beauty of God’s biodiversity and the threats it faces. As part of the service, we will livestream the first episode of the new series: ‘Everything is Holy: Biodiversity Loss + Spirituality.’

Sr Sheila Kinsey, FCJM will also be joining us to provide a reflection on the episode.

Register here to take part on 31 August 31 at 5pm Hong Kong Time: https://bit.ly/3dNiXWd

From 1 September (World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation) to 4 October (Feast of St Francis of Assisi) each year, the Christian community celebrates the Season of Creation by praying and acting together to protect our common home.

This online service will gather us together in prayer to prepare us for this special time of year.

The podcast series will run from September to November and is perfectly timed to coincide with Season of Creation, COP27 (climate change) and COP15 (biodiversity).
